Job Description

Job Brief
We are seeking suitably qualified high performing professionals (managers and above) to join our Financial Services Assurance division. You will be involved in providing assurance services to our portfolio of international and local clients in the oil and gas, government and across all sectors of the Nigeria economy. You will be responsible for the execution of the IPMC risk-based audit approach and leading audit teams during the fieldwork. In addition, you will have the opportunity to provide a variety of non-assurance services to our clients.
Successful applicants will have the opportunity to develop their technical knowledge of the Financial Services and Oil and Gas industries as well as having the opportunity to work with a number of high profile financial institutions.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
The position reports to Chairman and will have direct responsibility for a number of audit teams as follows:
Provide management over a portfolio of clients and deliver high-quality audit and assurance service, including preparing and reviewing audit plans and work.
Achieve team and individual budgets and business plan/ performance objectives.
Manages project financials, including budgets, timely billing and collection, and variance recognition.
Maintain the highest technical and professional IFRS standard.
Think strategically about client needs by understanding their business and key risks.
Addresses the situation before they come crises and develops solutions to avoid recurrence,
Providing additional help and guidance to clients on a consultancy basis.
Participants in the development of ways to meet client needs contribute to proposal delivery.
Identifying ways to maximize the relationship with clients and deliver added value.
Monitor and control the auditing staff.
Takes a leadership role in professional, business or community organizations.
Coach, train and develop auditing staff to upgrade their knowledge.
Be seen as a role model for auditing professionals.
Carry out practice management activities e.g. resourcing client billing etc.
Undertake wider office activities, as required.

Essential Skills and Requirements:
He should possess excellent knowledge of the principles and techniques of the tax procedures and must have a deep understanding of regulations and tax policy
He should be able to demonstrate exceptional time management and organizational skills to ensure timely completion of the project.
He should be an excellent team player with strong communication skills, Attention to Detail, Reporting Research Results, Thoroughness, and Presentation Skills, to be able to convey the audit tax details in a clear, concise manner.
He should be proficient in computers and must be able to retrieve, maintain and update any tax-related data whenever required.
He should have the ability to work under pressure and meet the deadlines by assuring completion of the project that is compliant with the tax and IFRS standards.
He should be able to maintain complete confidentiality related to the tax aspects.
He should have the ability to lead and supervise the team to perform the tasks assigned to him.
He must be a team player and open to learning, act with integrity and inspire trust 
Educational Qualifications and Experience
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent as well as a professional certificate in accounting (eg. ACCA, ACMA, ICAN, etc.),  and a professional certificate in project management (PRINCE2 or PMP)
At least Fifteen (15) years of relevant Audit experience in project monitoring and evaluation in oil and gas projects and the financial sector is definitely preferred.
Familiarity with oil and gas sector financial management systems in government and multilateral operations.
Comprehensive computer skills with practical knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Word & Excel) and MS Project.
Knowledge of procurement, project monitoring and evaluation, and contract management procedure in oil and gas projects would be considered a merit.
