SUMMARY OF ROLE
Work with the Project Management team in monitoring the Quality of work being executed and progress measurement.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Able to audit and identify risk including mitigation related to refinery projects in particular and other projects generally.
-Able to undertake technical and feasibility studies and site investigations.
-Able to design and implement cost-effective equipment modifications to help improve safety and reliability on-site, produce details of specifications and outline designs.
-Able to manage projects using engineering principles and techniques
-Recommending modifications following prototype test results
Using research, analytical, conceptual and planning skills, particularly mathematical modeling and computer-aided design considering the implications of issues such as cost, safety, and time constraints, and recommending modifications following prototype test results.
Working with other professionals, within and outside the engineering sector
-Ensure that a project runs smoothly and that the project is completed on time and within budget.
Correct any project deficiencies that affect production, quality and safety requirements before final evaluation and project review.
QUALIFICATIONS/ATTAINMENTS:
-HND, B.Sc in Engineering or related field of study
-Professional Qualification i.e. COREN, MNSE, PMP.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
-Min 12 years Civil Engineering experience in a Construction Project Environment.
-Proven track record in contributing to the improvement of project profitability, cash flow and control of commercial risk in previous roles.
-Experience in reinforced concrete, construction, and piling.
-Experience in the Oil and Gas sector essential.
-Commercially, financially and contractually aware with good communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
-Strong commercial leadership skills with proven capability of working in a matrix environment and of leading by influence.
-Industry Legal Awareness: Full understanding and working knowledge of the key legal risk areas such as but not limited to Contractual Liability, Insurance requirements, defective performance and Warranty obligations for goods and services and application of same in the construction industry.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
-Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as Primavera, Orion, MS Project, AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar.
-Experience in QA/QC inspection.
-Good problem-solving skills
-Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
-Project management and supervision skills
-Ability to monitor and evaluate the work at the job site as a project
