Job responsibilities include:

Oversees the day-to-day operations of a group of employees.

Develops, implements, and manages methods and procedures for inspection, testing, and evaluation.

Plans and establishes schedules and follows up performance against estimates.

Administers, plans, and provides support of the company's total quality management program. Recommends new policies or procedures as necessary to assure high quality of product or service.

Assembles cost control and statistical data.

Implements plans and techniques to ensure tasks are accomplished within financial limits.

Approves process specification and design standards.

May review or supervise development of material selection standards.

Develops approaches for assuring output of high quality product or service.

May assist in preparing and controlling quality assurance/ quality control budgets.

Responsible for evaluating and reporting quality and reliability data to management personnel.

Assists in training and development of subordinate staff, estimating personnel needs, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.

Minimum Requirements

HS + 12 year or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualifications

The preferred candidate will have experience with the following:

Collect information from various sources to fully understand and enforce contract documents such as standard specifications, plans, and special provisions
Perform and check the accuracy of complex computations including those performed by other staff

Analyze the contractor schedule to plan out the inspection of projects in their entirety

Conduct pre-activity meetings for various construction activities such as asphaltic concrete, PCCP, striping and major structures, box culverts, bridges, traffic control, storm drains, implementation of SWPPP, and other minor incidentals

Supervise lower level inspection staff

Expert understanding of equipment and technology used to gather samples and information from the field

General understanding of the project delivery process and the interaction between the disciplines within a group

Knowledge of supplemental agreements such as change orders and letter of agreements

Knowledge of Force Accounts and ADOT standard policy and procedures specifications, and documentation
