Construction Materials Testing Manager

-Working with and managing a 50 person team of engineering technicians, engineers, and project managers
-Authoring and/or reviewing technical reports and letters
-Work with staff engineers, technicians, and administrative personnel to provide services; Satisfy multiple and unrelated deadlines
-Participation in meeting the office's business development, marketing, and proposal goals
-Develop and maintain relationships with current and prospective clients
-Identify and pursues new opportunities to grow construction inspection and material testing services
-Assist in proposal and SQQ development leveraging project experience to win work
-Supervise, coordinate, and train laboratory and field construction materials testing staff
-Manage construction materials testing laboratory operations to ensure project deadlines and quality standards are met or exceeded
-Check time records of technicians daily for accuracy and approves
-Oversee routine maintenance of laboratory/field sampling/testing equipment as well as the calibration and proper documentation of all applicable equipment
-Oversee the laboratory accreditation program and technician training and certification program to ensure necessary accreditations and personnel qualifications are maintained
-Recommends equipment for procurement
-Provide training and instructional guidance to material testing technicians
-Provide continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality, seamless customer service
Requirements:
-A minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible experience in field/laboratory testing with three (3) year experience in supervision
-Marketing and business development experience is not required but highly preferred
-Extensive knowledge of construction materials
-Thorough knowledge of laboratory quality management system and laboratory records management techniques
-Have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
-Strong oral and written communication skills along with having the ability to work in a team environment
-Flexibility to travel to construction sites for extended periods and work outside of normal business hours
-Must pass a drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving policy
