SUMMARY

The C&I Engineer & Technical Advisor shall ensure that engineering, design, equipment and infrastructure are designed, installed, maintained to National, International and Company standards and deliver safe and reliable facilities to planned cost and schedule. The role will lead the Control and Instrumentation discipline within the Company and provide functional support and guidance to Company Engineers, Design Contractors, Construction, Operations, and Maintenance.

In-house Engineering and Maintenance Support Role:

 Review and develop Company and Project documentation including P&IDs, C&Es, Control Philosophy, ESD and Blowdown Philosophy, HAZOPs, and SIL Reports. ?
Develop and manage small operation and maintenance de-bottleneck, improvement and upgrade projects with the in-house design team.
 Prepare technical specifications and data sheets, approve wiring, installation and construction drawings.
Work closely with asset leads, instrumentation and control technicians and control systems manufacturer to maximise equipment reliability and availability.
Visit site locations to gather necessary information to support project developments and maintenance issues. 
Sit on the Company's Management of Change committee and review, critique or approve proposed changes to facilities.  Review and Sign off the scopes of work for specific Functional Safety, Plant Protection, Data Acquisition, Automation and Control activities to be conducted by specialists or external vendors as required.

FEED & EPC Study Role:

As required visit FEED and EPC Contractor offices. 
Ensure detailed review of all FEED and EPC Contractors' and vendor systems, processes and procedures, including PEPs, Quality Plans, etc for Control and Automation aspects. 
Monitor all Control and Instrumentation Engineering design and procurement work performed by the FEED & EPC Contractors and other third party designers/vendors, providing oversight and guidance, ensuring that all work satisfies company specifications and standards. ? Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) as required. ?
Support construction, precommissioning and commissioning, etc. as required.

Specific Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or other related field

Minimum 12 years of Experience with significant experience in an Engineering role in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical setting.

Operations and Maintenance experience would be a significant advantage.

Seasoned and all-round versatile C&I engineer.

Comprehensive knowledge of Instrumentation, Control and Shutdown Valves and their application.

Strong knowledge of Control & Safety Systems.

Working knowledge of IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 norms and their practical application to projects and operations.

Layer of Protection Analysis, SIL Determination and SIL Verification.

Alarm Management and Rationalisation. ? Hazardous Area Classification and Certification.

Preferred Experience:
Major project experience with strong design engineering/procurement background and a broad understanding of multiple disciplines and their interfaces.

Experience of supervising work in a Contractor's Design Office.
Experience of monitoring and intervention in Manufacturing Facilities and Fab Yards.
Experience of Field Engineering and/or construction on a Construction Site.
