Responsibilities
Verify & validate the competency of lifting supervisors + crane operators (interview)
Complete appropriate checklists for cranes arriving on site
Validate competency during first time set up & working of crane on site
Review of basic lifting- & rigging plans
Review & signing of required permits for basic lifting- & rigging operations
Spot checks of crane/rigging set up; verify they meet permits, lifting- & rigging plans and site requirements
Spot checks on validity of rigging gear certificates
Spot checks on condition of rigging gear
Keep track that all Lifting Management (LM) certifications & LM insurances for all cranes are valid
Keep a close eye on all ongoing basic lifting- & rigging operations
Coach, train and educate subcontractor lifting- & rigging personnel on any shortcomings
Attend Toolbox talks and PTTs at site
Review of additional documentation for complex lifting- & rigging operations
Field-check of each and every complex lift set-up
Witness complete complex lift operations from start to finish (set down of load)
Witness complex heavy transport operations (RoRo)
Requirements
Minimum of 10 Years’ experience in the Oil and Gas Industry both in Onshore and Offshore facilities. Certified by the Lifting Equipment Engineering Association, LEEA Part 1 & 2 or an approved equivalent Engineering Qualification or by experience and training. Familiar with all International Lifting Equipment Standards and codes for the testing and certification of Cranes and Lifting Equipment. Must have the ability to communicate with clients in an advisory capacity if required and the ability to judge the suitability of the equipment being used in relation to its use. Must be proficient in the use of common PC Software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, etc.). Read, Write and Speak English fluently
heavy transport/heavy lift experience with a proven ability to work with contractor personnel in a mentoring/developmental role in a site-oriented environment
LMS certification
Computer literate with MS basic programs, Outlook, PowerPoint /Excel & Word
Basic reporting skills. Good verbal and written English language proficiency as well as effective communication skills in English
In-depth understanding of Lifting Regulations and Standards.
Skilled in the understanding of technical principles, practices, and methods for transport and lifting operations.
Specific and intricate knowledge of SPMT/SPT
operational/technical aspects and Heavy Lift Crane experience.
A combination of hands-on and technical experience in the operation and maintenance of transport/lifting equipment.
