Role & Responsibilities
Technical qualification/certification in mechanical discipline is an advantage.
10 plus years recent experience in mechanical Quality Inspection (Rotating/Fixed equipment) related to construction, hook-up, commissioning and start-up of process plant(s) and pipelines, onshore or offshore. 3 plus years in a site construction role (such as Mechanical Technician, Mechanical Foreman or Mechanical Engineer) related to offshore topsides is preferred and must be within the last 5 years. Industry knowledge of mechanical codes and standards and understanding of mechanical instruction and drawings is required.
Must be proficient in the use of common PC software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, etc. Read, write and speak English fluently.
Responsible for performing Quality inspection activities on mechanical equipment in accordance with Project Quality Plan/Surveillance Programs.
Witness inspections during fabrication activities and planned on Inspection & Test Plans including field testing and monitor assembly of mechanical equipment packages.
Witness acceptance tests and perform final Quality checks prior to acceptance of equipment and materials.
" Shall be responsible for preparing the Site Quality Plan, Quality Manual, QA/QC Inspection Procedures, Check List, Method Statements etc. as per the project requirement.
" Shall coordinate with the main contractor's/MEP consultant for material and work inspections.
" Shall prepare and track all the QA/QC Inspections and closely monitor the NCRs and its closure.
" Shall prepare weekly progress report and submit it to the Project Manager.
" Shall act as an internal QC Inspector and resolve all quality system related issues internally prior to the consultant's inspection.
" Shall supervise/perform and report internal quality audits and external quality audits of consultants, sub-contractors etc.
" Daily review of site progress with the site engineers to ensure that the installations are as per the latest drawings and prepare the consultant's inspection schedule accordingly.
Candidate Profile
" Engineering graduate with minimum 12 years' experience in Quality Assurance & Quality Control of Mechanical Systems (Gulf experience preferred).
" Core area of experience: Good exposure in developing and implementing the QA/QC procedures for Mechanical systems like HVAC, Plumbing, Firefighting etc for the large scale industrial and residential / commercial high rise projects.
" Exposure to Testing, Commissioning and Balancing of Mechanical system.
" Working knowledge in AutoCAD, MS Office
" Knowledge in ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, Civil defense
requirements, International Plumbing Code, National Plumbing Code etc. will be added advantage
