Key Responsibilities

The CWI and NDT Level I- II candidate shall be capable of and responsible for understanding and interpreting codes, standards, specifications and procedures in order to perform QA functions and NDT inspections to particular test methods.

Shall have sufficient practical Quality Control / Quality Assurance background in applicable materials, fabrication and / or product technology and can assist the design engineer in establishing acceptance criteria where none are otherwise available

Shall have sufficient training hours and experience in the NDT methods listed below and can demonstrate NDT proficiency by passing ASNT NDT Level II examinations with 80% or better


Skills / Qualifications


A college degree in a related field is preferred. Evidence of NDT training is required. Level II/III certification in at least two of the following methods: Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Ultrasonic and Radiography in accordance with ASNT SNT-TC-1A or equivalent is acceptable.

10 plus years recent experience in NDT Quality Inspection related to construction, hook-up, commissioning and start-up of process plant(s) and pipelines, onshore or offshore. 3 plus years in a site construction role (such as NDT Technician/Specialist, Welding/Structural Foreman or Mechanical Engineer) related to offshore topsides is preferred and must be within the last 5 years. Industry knowledge of NDT codes and standards and understanding of mechanical instruction and drawings is required.

Must be proficient in the use of common PC software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, etc. Read, write and speak English fluently.

Responsible for performing Quality inspection activities in accordance with Project Quality Plan.

Witness NDTs during fabrication activities as planned in Inspection & Test Plans.

Capable of establishing techniques and procedures; interpret codes, standards, specifications, and procedures; and advise on particular NDE methods, techniques, and procedures to be used.
Capable of interpreting and evaluating results in terms of existing codes, standards, and specifications.

Possess sufficient practical background in applicable materials, fabrications, and product technology to establish techniques and to assist with definition of acceptance criteria when none are otherwise available.


Current Certification by ASNT as an NDT Level II or ACCP Professional Level II in at least the following methods
Magnetic Particle (MT)

Ultrasonic Testing (UT)

CWI

Bolting Inspection Card
Working knowledge of ASNT SNT-TC-1A

Applicable ASME Code Sections

Precast / Prestressed Concrete Institute Quality Control Personnel Certification Level II (PCI-II)

AWS Codes and other Codes and Standards as necessary

High School diploma or equivalent

Excellent written and oral communication skills required

10+ years of related experience
