uties & Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL
Estimate jobs from blueprints and determine the cost of parts or the entire job including labor and materials.
Supervise Fabricators. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Formulate and implement work schedules, which includes writing job followers.
Coordinate all aspects of Fabrication Shop projects with customers and other departments.
Determine material and tooling requirements and expedite material acquisition.
Trouble-shoot production and technical problems.
Oversee layout, design, and production of tools.
Interview and test applicants.
Advise, consult, or counsel others throughout the organization in order to gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas and actions.
Explain and interpret routing information to others or conducting routine business with suppliers, vendors, etc.
Contact engineering regarding drawings or ideas to assist in method improvement.
Create new or improved methods, products or systems. Requires independent thinking in collaboration with other professionals to address operational, functional, or financial issues.
Management responsibility equivalent to that of a Shop Manager/Program Manager, with responsibility for results in terms of costs, schedules and performance of assigned area.
Requires very high level of physical and mental coordination and close and continuous concentration equivalent to the coordination of mind, hand, and eye.

Qualifications

REQUIRED
Bachelor's  Degree or equivalen in a related field.
Minimum ten (10) years of experience is required to know the procedures and effects of metal fabrication.
Must have experience managing employees and supervising projects.
Able to read blueprints.
Must have a strong background in math and material formation and peripherals.
