Position Description:
We are looking for experienced professionals to join us in inferring data-driven decisions.
Our petroleum engineers need to have deep knowledge in Data Mining algorithms and techniques, mastery of Data Modeling Designs and data QC skills, excellent experience in writing Structured Query Language (SQL), as well as basic knowledge of Petrophysics, Data Security and Hydrocarbon Allocation.
You should have good knowledge in data visualization to translate results into figure and graphs
Responsible for well production optimization of assigned oil and gas fields.
Recommends well workovers based on integrated analysis of reservoir, wellbore and facilities data.
Collaborates with technical and service companies on innovations and solutions to production problems.
Establish liaison with all departments to enable fulfillment of well workovers and production strategies.
This position is embedded within the Petroleum Engineering Data Management Division business and will engage with leaders and experts from across the upstream business.
This technical role requires expertise in data mining techniques to build the most advanced statistical models to solve complex petroleum engineering data challenges.
Minimum Requirements:
As a successful candidate, you should hold a bachelor's degree in computer science, petroleum or chemical engineering with preference given to candidates with proven field operational experience and good proficiency in the English language.
A minimum of 10+ years of experience performing a similar position in the oil and gas industry.
Experience in Oilfield Manager (OFM) and Prosper would be advantageous. BS degree with a master/specialization in artificial intelligence, data science or data analytics.
You must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of data science, advanced data analytics or artificial intelligence domains. Adequate Experience of machine learning algorithms, which include: Deep Learning algorithms (Feed forward neural networks, convolutional neural networks, recursive neural networks), classification algorithms (Random forest, C45, SVM, Bayesian, KNN), clustering algorithms (K-means, hierarchical, DBSCAN), reinforcement Learning and recommendation systems.
You should have the ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams and to communicate ideas clearly with specialists in petroleum engineering data management, reservoir characterization and geologic modeling, petro-physical evaluation, core analysis, reservoir management, and production engineering.
Duties & Responsibilities:
You are expected to be able to perform the following:
Apply data analytics methods, and keep up-to-date with the latest technologies.
Design and oversee core and fluid studies to enhance petrophysical models.
Complete reviews of drilling, wellbore, reservoir and production data.
Prepare well workover, production and testing programs.
Coordinate with service companies on actual workover operations in the field.
Review field operations and present production strategies to upper management.
Provide petroleum engineering expertise in all technical and operational work.
Perform and oversee accurate Plant and Well Allocation processes.
Enhance data quality in the well database by enhancing data flow processes.
Propose data model design/business rules enhancements for data quality improvements.
Develop and enforce data access control measures to maintain Petroleum Engineering data confidentiality.
Act as technical advisor to management regarding best practices for advanced data analytics and data science topics.
