Job Description:
-Works closely with the client on-site personnel and vendor service engineers engaged in pre-commissioning and troubleshooting activities.
-May develop and execute “on-site” individual component electrical and performance test procedures.
-Reviews engineering drawings and specifications to ensure adequate provisions have been made for testing and other pre-commissioning functions.
-Develops electrical test procedures and reports.
-Perform electrical checkout and energization of power systems
-Must have the ability to conduct systems walk downs and generate punch lists
-Conducts and directs electrical circuit/relay calibration and testing.
-Supervises construction craft labor assigned him/her.
Requirements:
-Bachelor Degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
-Minimum of ten (10) years in the power industry.
-Experience in power plant electrical maintenance/supervision is a plus.
-You should have experience in assignments of similar nature and complexity in construction management and supervision of substations [132/33 kV and above], including review of design, supervision of EPC contractor’s quality, schedule, environmental, safety and health compliance, verification of equipment quality, and certification of variation orders.
-Experience in assignments of similar nature and complexity in construction management and supervision of substations in the sub-Africa region would be a plus.
