Job Description

Quality Control Manager – Team Lead: The quality control manager assesses the quality of workmanship, materials, and deliverables produced during the project.
Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee project quality control to ensure compliance to codes, standards, regulations, equipment specific specifications, and QMS requirements.
 Provide technical expertise and hands on support to projects on Quality matters
 Investigate all Quality Deviations or failures and lessons learnt communicated
 Coordinate project readiness meetings prior to mobilization and report forwarded to management
 Responsible for monitoring and evaluation of the performance of the quality management system for the purpose of improvement.
 Ensure all project Quality deliverables are achieved and that work is being done in accordance to Clients approved procedures, standard and specifications
 Liaise with client for resolution of technical issues
 Monitor project activities against project plan and carry out other activities that will ensure that project outputs are issued on schedule, within budget, safety standards and quality expectation.
Communicate Regular Project Progress Reports to Top Management
Work with Project Teams to Develop and implement Quality Control plans and procedures in line with industry standards and project requirements.
Coordinate root cause analysis and implement preventive and corrective actions.
Liaise with project management to ensure project quality deliverables are maintained and are in line with project schedule requirement.
Ensure planned project audits are executed in line with project requirement.
Develop and present comprehensive reports identifying quality performance indicators in projects.
Shall ensure that Non-Conformities/Corrective Actions are closed out at most five days from date of issue.
Shall carry out material receiving inspection of project materials and report same.
Shall ensure that all equipment certifications are up to date.
Provide quality documentation support to all tendering process.
Possess the ability to Review and Interpret Basic Schematics including, Loop Drawings, P&IDs and Systems Architecture Drawings, etc.
Qualifications:
HND/BSc in Engineering or a related Field
Certification in ISO 9001:2015 as an Auditor/Lead Auditor is a plus
Minimum 20 years’ experience in Close-Out Audit for a Refinery or Petrochemical Industry
Strong knowledge of industry standards and quality control procedures.
Certified in Welding Inspection with at least three years’ experience in the oil and gas industry would be an added advantage
Possession of (CWI/AWS/ NACE Level I/II or CSWIP / BGAS Grade 1/2 is a plus)
Certification in Project Management and Quality Control or Quality assurance is a plus.
Possession of API 510, 570, and 653 certifications as well as CWI/AWS/ NACE Level I/II or CSWIP / BGAS Grade 1/2 is a plus) would be a plus
Good knowledge of qualifying ASME WPS and welder/welding operator qualifications, including local regulation requirements.
Good knowledge of welding inspection and related NDE methods (MT, PT, UT, and RT), including ASME Sec. V requirements.
Experienced in performing corrosion monitoring and API 579-1/ASME FFS-1 fitness for service (FFS) analysis of pressure equipment would be a plus.
Supervision of safe storage and verification of all project related documentation, both paper documents and electronic files.
Experience with managing field engineering, inspection, and NDE related to all QA/QC functions.
Experience in project planning, execution (construction realities), management, and communication with all engineering groups.
Experience in shutdown planning and execution.
Ability to develop and manage non-conformance, deficiencies, and reporting programs, including root cause analysis.
Ability to ensure correct codes, standards, job specifications, project procedures, federal and provincial regulations are properly identified, correctly specified in detail, and met or exceeded.
Experience with the creation and administration of inspection planning, weld/welder tracking, RBI, FFS, and reporting programs.
Must have the ability to work within strict deadlines and under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanour.
