Job Description
Ensure compliance management systems are established and implemented to meet applicable environmental and company regulatory requirements,

Understand business drivers to develop and deliver high quality, fit for purpose mitigations/improvements in addressing environmental risk areas, in a few of the following areas: Greenhouse Gas (GHG) management, wastewater/water quality, air quality, pollutant dispersion, estimation, measurement, waste control and/or related impact assessment processes.

Co-lead  GHG emission inventory management and provide technical guidance to existing environmental programs. Identify and progress environment opportunities and improvements across company asset using the appropriate work processes -Management of Change, Project Delivery Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, e.g., Operations, Business Group, Government Relations, Regulators, the scientific community) to deliver environment opportunities and risk management.

Support  existing environmental programs and contribute to  GHG overall management.

Provide recommendations on the application of relevant Shell internal standards, technical aspects of legislative requirements, and external standards & policy; partner with Government Relations as Scotford's Regulatory & Advocacy focal point on current and emerging regulations and policies.

Participate in external verification for Compliance & Assurance on Environment related standards, e.g., ISO 14001 and GHG emissions reporting.
Role may be tailored depending on the applicant's skills, development areas, and business need.

Dimensions: Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders (internal and external); Stakeholders may include a broad range of internal and external business partners, regulatory agencies, industry groups, and NGOs.

Managing uncertainty, approaches and decision making with limited data (GHG forecasting, legislative/regulatory changes) Individual contributor role that works well in a team environment, and across organizational boundaries. Technical Lead for multiple projects and able to support multiple assets, projects and work streams concurrently. Working to support highly visible projects with potential regional and national reputational impacts. Work has analytical, technical and management dimensions.

Response to Environment On-call and act as Liaison Officer .

Handling the containment of hazardous materials
Investigating sites that have been contaminated with chemicals, toxic waste or other dangerous materials

Ensuring all parties meet compliance with environmental regulations

Obtaining necessary permits involved in the remediation project

Training staff on how to use and implement remediation systems
Compiling technical reports, daily logs and soil, water and chemical audits

Qualifications
The candidate should have good knowledge of environmental risks and delivering work through work processes.
 Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Environment Engineer or other related fields
Minimum of 7 years of technical experience in process engineering, preferably at or associated with an Operating Site Has strong environment compliance, regulatory, risk management background
Well knowledgeable in Greenhouse Gas emissions control technology, Carbon Intensity, assessment and design use. Understanding on how we seek to achieve Energy Efficiency and GHG abatement in our current operations and future projects. Experience of working independently and as part of a team on projects to address environmental issues.
