Job Description
The Senior Civil/Structural Engineer will provide engineering support and assurance activities to the Development, Greenfields and Brownfields Projects, Maintenance and Operations for the Upstream Asset, and above-asset support to the Midstream Asset. You will ensure the delivery of Civil/Structural systems which are safe, utilise best available, fit for purpose technology, compliant with industry, regulatory and Company standards, minimise environmental emissions and are capable of sustained operation in line with operational targets.
Some of the key deliverables and responsibilities for this role are as follows:
Provide accurate and timely Civil/Structural engineering guidance and advice across QGC to all project and asset teams.
Provide Assurance reviews of Civil/Structural engineering designs to ensure safety, integrity, best-practice fit-for-purpose designs.
Manage the integrity of all Civil/Structural Safety Critical Elements (SCEs) in Upstream assets under a preventative maintenance program to ensure they function as barriers to Major Accident Hazards.
Review changes in the context of Civil/Structural engineering in compliance with the QGC Management of Change (MOC) Procedure.
Oversee designs being undertaken by engineering contractors to ensure that Safety in Design (SiD) is embedded and that minimum standards of technical compliance are met.
The Senior Civil/Structural Engineer may be asked to deliver, lead or participate in technical studies, safety investigations, Continuous Improvement (CI) projects, and undertake other tasks or activities which from time to time the business deems appropriate.
Health Safety Security and Environment (HSSE)
In particular the role requires the incumbent to demonstrate safety leadership at all times.
Requirements
What we need from you:
Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Attained Chartered Professional Engineer status.
Senior or Lead Civil/Structural engineering experience in the Onshore Oil & Gas or equivalent Civil Infrastructure industries
Prior competency assessment completed or working towards a Technical Authority level status for Civil/Structural engineering.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience of applying Civil/Structural engineering principles and standards in the design, construction and maintenance of onshore brownfield facilities.
Experience in overseeing design, construction and maintenance scopes of work being undertaken by engineering contractors or third parties.
Knowledge and/or application of Civil Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) or Risk Based Inspections (RBI) on brownfield facilities.
