Qualifications
College degree in Engineering, Science or Technology field is preferred.
10 plus years’ experience in Quality Inspection, with exposure to implementation of machine shop, fabrication and /or manufacturing quality control processes including relevant test operations, mechanical & systems completions, commissioning and equipment start-up.
5 plus years practical experience performing in-process and final inspections on machined parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies to specified engineering requirements.
Ability to read / interpret relevant engineering (including mechanical machining & assembly) drawings, bills of materials, parts lists and Purchase Orders (POs), industry codes, standards and specifications is required.
Experience in using various inspection tools such as micrometers and calipers.
Possession of certification in any of the following: AWS-CWI or SCWI or CSWIP or equivalent, level II/III in Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Ultrasonic and Radiography in accordance with ASNT SNT-TC-1A and NACE Level I/II/III or equivalent respectively is an advantage
Must be proficient in the use of common PC software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, etc. Read, write and speak English.
Review and understand Purchase specification / order, Engineering standards, exceptions, deviations and scope of inspection.
Perform discipline quality inspection activities based on equipment criticality as defined in Inspection and Test Plan, approved inspection procedure and/or Purchase Order Specification.
Monitor production processes and perform Quality surveillance activities. Conduct material verification checks including review and approval of material certifications for chemical and physical properties, interpretation of material test reports, Positive Material Identification (PMI) reports and other associated manufacturer’s documentation.
Verification of welder/welding operator qualification records. Review and endorsement of NDT results.
