Primary Purpose of Job
1. Contribute to and implement the Application Support strategy, vision, and priorities using the industry's best practice, ensuring compliance to ICT Policies and Procedures with emphasis on Information Security Requirements to achieve the corporate goals.
2. Provide application installation/setup, maintenance/update, application security as per QP's Information Security Policies and standards related to solution classification and/or risk assessment.
3. Evaluate business and technical systems based on user needs by organizing and participating in vendor evaluation meetings, designing tender technical evaluation criteria, bids evaluation, and systems recommendation to ensure that the most appropriate solution is procured and implemented.
4. Provide application support for incoming tickets, including extensive troubleshooting and debugging, with responsibilities covering multiple Applications.
5. Ensure adherence and provide advisory to Application Support standards and methodologies to achieve optimized and mature software application maintenance, upgrade and support services.
6. Prepare detailed assessment reports and implement the software change management and software release management services based on the established configuration management strategy to provide effective control and mitigation of risk to system availability, performance, and security.
7. Tracks and reports progress of projects, software change requests and incident reports by follow-up and regular contacts with users to ensure that the services are implemented on-time and within budget.
8. Implement preventive and corrective actions by performance monitoring and troubleshooting using expert knowledge, reviewing usage of software licenses, liaising with multiple business departments, solution providers and vendors for enhancing the reliability of deployed solutions.
9. Plan and conduct the customer contact workshops by providing clarification on business and technical concerns, identify areas for improvement and meet agreed customer expectations to improve business effectiveness and usage of the system
Education
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering / Petroleum / Business or equivalent discipline.
Experience & Skills
• Minimum 6 years of progressive and directly related experience.
• Good understanding of Oil and Gas business processes, practices and related business systems and technical applications.
• Expert in a remote technical support role including hardware/software/operating systems as well as server and network experience, Microsoft SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager)
• Expert in Help Desk ticketing systems, Active Directory, scripting, software packaging/automation/distribution tools. • Ability to perform in a highly administrative and structured work environment.
• Strong knowledge of network, systems, desktop applications, and databases.
• Ability to multitask and support changes
. • Fluent in English both spoken & written.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, team player with a positive attitude and ability to multi-task and withstand work pressure.
