Essential Responsibilities:
· Responsible for standardized duties and tasks in the setup and operation of casting and molding equipment used to produce or modify parts or products.
· Fills the mold with mixed material or applies the material to mold to the specified thickness.
· Molds parts or products using casting equipment and ensures uniformity.
· Operates and adjusts controls of heating equipment to melt material or to cure, dry or bake filled molds according to specifications.
· Opens mold and removes finished products.
· Measures ingredients and mixes molding or casting material or sealing compound, to prescribed consistency according to formula.
· Assembles inserts and adjusts wires, tubes, cores, fittings, rods, or patterns into the mold, using hand tools and depth gauge.
· Removes excess material and levels and smoothes mold mixture.
· Loads or stacks filled molds in the oven, drier, or curing box, or on storage racks or carts.
· Reads work order or examine part to determine part or section of the product to be produced.
· Selects size and type of mold according to instructions.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
· Bachelor's Degree or equivalent. 1+ years of related casting or production experience.
Desired Characteristics:
· Basic skills in mathematics and comprehension of weight/volume measurements.
· Applies basic and develops advanced skill is procedures, techniques, tools, material and or equipment appropriate to the area of specialization.
