Chika Onyekwere – Senior Environmental Consultant
Chika Onyekwere is an environmental consultant with over 6 years of experience, passionate about sustainability for equity and socio-economic development across sectors. Chika holds a degree in Chemical Engineering and is certified in Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001:2015), Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (ISO 45001:2018), Health, Safety and Environment, Energy Management, Sustainability, Environmental and Social Management systems, climate change, Environmental Impact Assessment and Business Leadership. Chika worked as the Business Operations Manager at the LeadPath Consulting Group, Nigeria, where she rebranded and repositioned the organization’s goals through several key operational services, maintained stakeholder relationships, managed risks, and ensured sustainability. As a process engineer at GGI International (Nigeria) Limited, she was a key contributor to the upturn of yield of processed products at the Port Harcourt
Refining Company, through boiler (process flow) water services. She has interned at Emval Nigeria Limited as a Health, Safety, and Environment Officer, and Weafri Wells Services Limited as a Process Laboratory Assistant. Chika is a Young African Leaders Initiative and United States Department of State International Exchange Alumna. She organizes social impact programmes and initiatives on environmental sustainability and has been featured by the United States Mission to the African Union, on the US Department of State’s Young African Leaders Initiative Guest Blog, and by USAID West Africa for these projects. Currently, Chika is the Senior Environmental Consultant at IPMC Limited where she is synergizing with the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) team to provide environmental advisory and consultancy services to organizations in various sectors of the African economy; helping clients make smart sustainable decisions based on a more comprehensive set of key performance indicators.
